MeMe's Weekend Rundown 4.6.13

HEY FASHION DOLLS!!

   So I decided to do a weekend rundown today because I am going to be so busy with church and my closet sale on Sunday, April 7th. So today I went shopping and picked up somethings, plus i went to Frankies Fun park and won something, so here is my WEEKEND RUNDOWN!!



THRIFT STORE EXTRAVAGANZA!!
    So the first place that I went was to Exchange factor, where they sell a lot of vintage and rock stuff and before I show you what I got, I have to show you the plastic bag I received my merchandise in, and the cool back story is the girl that was running the place at the time (she was dressed like a pin up girl from head to toe, which was pretty awesome!) and while she has idle time, she creates collages on the bags for customers, so below is the one I got and I am def saving it.

SO THIS IS THE CORSET TOP  I GOT FROM EXCHANGE FACTOR. ITS A BODY BY VICTORIA  CORSET TOP FROM VICTORIAS SERCRET. IT WOULD NORMALLY COST $20-$24 BUT I ONLY GOT IT FOR $2!!!!

SO I ALSO WENT TO MY LOCAL THRIFT STORE IN CHARLESTON, SC AND THIS IS WHAT I GOT:

 SO TO END MY WONDERFUL DAY, I WENT TO FRANKIES FUN PARK AND WON THIS WIRELESS USB HELLO KITTY KEYBOARD FOR MY DESKTOP!!!! IT COST ME 1500 TICKETS BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!!

Pink Pearls and Starry Night Nails

HEY FASHION DOLLS!!
    for those who know me  personally, know that I do my own nails and nail designs myself. I have done anything from hearts to puzzles to color blocking. so with doing my nails tonight I figure I help all the dolls who don't have the money to go to a nail shop but want their nails to look like they did. so i  am going to show you how to do the design that I did tonight. the first picture is the end result and I will walk you through it step by step!

 

THE END RESULT

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

CLEAR POLISH

POLISH WITH GLITTER (PINK)

LILAC OR LAVENDAR NAIL POLISH

PEARL COLORED POLISH (PINK)

THE BRANDS THAT I USED WAS AVON IN LOVING LAVENDAR-$1.50,KLEANCOLOR IN AURORA-$2.00, L.A COLORS BASE COAT CLEAR POLISH-$1 AND L.A PEARL PINK - FREE (GOT IT AS A GIFT FROM MY COUSIN)

 FIRST STEP:
AFTER WASHING YOUR HANDS AND DRYING IT COMPLETELY, APPLY A COAT OF CLEAR POLISH AND LET IT DRY. THEN TAKE THE PEARL PINK POLISH AND POLISH HALF OF THE NAIL, STARTING FROM THE CUTICLE TO THE MIDDLE IN A UPWARD MOTION. LET DRY FOR ABOUT 3 MINS.

                                                     

SECOND STEP:

AFTER FIRST POLISH HAS DRIED, APPLY THE LAVENDAR POLISH IN A CROSS LIKE MOTION TO WHERE YOU CAN SEE A TRIANGLE FORM WHERE THE CUTICLE IS. THEN POLISH THE TOP OF THE NAILS. USE TWO TO THREE COATS AND LET DRY FOR 3-5 MINUTES. SOME WOULD STOP HERE AND APPLY CLEAR COAT AND THIS BE THE DESIGN BECAUSE IT IS CUTE,BUT IF YOU WANT TO PUSH THE ENVELOPE, CONTINUE TO STEP THREE.

THIRD STEP:

AFTER LAVENDAR POLISH HAS DRIED, APPLY THE POLISH WITH THE GLITTER ON THE LAVENDAR PARTS. YOU MAY NEED MULTIPLE COATS DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF POLISH WITH GLITTER YOU USING OR HOW MUCH GLITTER YOU WANT. THE ONE I WAS USING HAD PINK STARS AND GOLD FLAKES IN IT SO I USED ABOUT FOUR COATS UNTIL I GOT THE STARS HOW I WANTED THEM. LET YOUR NAILS DRY ABOUT 5 MINUTES OR LONGER THEN APPLY THE CLEAR COAT TO SEAL IN THE DESIGN AND LET DRY.

FINAL STEP: AFTER THE CLEAR COAT HAS DRIED, MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE ACCESS POLISH FROM THE SIDE OF YOUR FINGERS AND MAKE SURE THAT YOUR NAILS ARE DRIED. IF TAKING CARE OF PROPERLY, THIS STYLE SHOULD LAST YOU FOR ABOUT 3-5 DAYS!

My Adventures to 32 Degrees

HEY FASHION DOLLS!!
      So me and my DJ friend, DJ Mem C was doing what awesome people like us do, which was cruise down to downtown, Charleston, SC. So as we were looking at different trends in the boutiques and enjoying the atmosphere, I decided that I wanted some frozen yogurt, so we headed to 32 Degrees yogurt bar. So I got the vanilla yogurt with the toppings, pineapple, granola, birthday cake pieces and graham cracker, and it was super delicious. Here is the picture of it:

It didn't last ten minutes. lol 

So I encourage all my fashion dolls to check them out and tell me about your experience and what you got. if you think that there is no location near you, I will  post their information and you can look for a location near you. and if you don't have a 32 Degrees near you, you can look for a yogurt bar in your town and tell me how it is. Model In Action: Kristina Lally

HELLO FASHION DOLLS!
      so in my line of work in the fashion industry, I have come across of interested people and I see the moves that they are making and I am truly impressed. so while working with one of my favorite Photographers I came a across a model that I was interested in and know I had to interview her. So here is the awesome Kristina Lally: Model in Action 

                                                         KRISTINA LALLY

Q. Where are you from?

KL: Salem, Massachusetts also known as the witch city. 20 minutes north of Boston. born and raised. 

Q.What made you get into modeling?

KL: i have always been in love with photography but as i got older people started suggesting that i model...i have been asked to do suicide girls a few times but nudes is not really my thing so i decided to work with local photographers in boston and started modeling as a hobby. i have been modeling off and on for almost three years.

Q. Do you do anything else besides modeling?

KL: i went to school for cosmetology but am not really into the hair thing - makeup is more my passion

Q. What is the Best project/event you have been a part of?

KL: i've typically been too busy with work to be a part of any huge event etc...

Q. what inspires you?

KL: fashion and photography inspire me. It's what inspires me to style my own photo shoots as well as my day to day outfits for work or going out.  

Q. What advice would you give little girls who want to become a model when they grow up?

KL: be confident and happy with yourself. do not compare yourself to others you are beautiful in your own way no matter what shape, size or skin color. Confidence is what people notice, not how skinny you are or how big your breast are. 

Q .If you can meet a celebrity, who would it be?

KL: i have been in love with Johnny Depp since i was 14. I would especially love to meet him dressed up as jack sparrow and if i had it my way i would marry him as a pirate and live in the carribbean hahaha

Q.whats your favorite part about a photo shoot?

KL:my favorite part about a photo shoot is STYLING. i LOVE putting outfits together and doing makeup and then seeing the final result when the pictures are done. 

Q.where do you see yourself in the next two years?

KL: in the next two years i will proudly be back in Boston hopefully doing makeup for Mac or Sephora.
